Donor Spotlight: Featured Artist Tianna O. L. Bays

As part of our Wish & Win Gallery, Tianna is donating two hand-painted conceptual pieces that will serve as an inspiration for a larger, more detailed artwork created exclusively for this gala. Through symbolism, color, and emotion, her work beautifully captures the hidden realities individuals may face behind the masks they wear daily.

Featured Concept In the Making:
Centered within an ornate golden mirror, a hooded figure holds a smiling white mask before their face. The mirror symbolizes self-reflection and the contrast between what one sees and how one feels inside. While the mask presents a calm, pleasant appearance, the reflection reveals a weary expression marked by emotional exhaustion and silent pain. Shades of deep blue and purple create an atmosphere of isolation, introspection, and vulnerability, reminding us that many who experience bullying often conceal their struggles behind carefully crafted smiles.

The concept explores the truth that is revealed only in private moments—the unseen emotional impact of bullying, intimidation, rejection, and hurtful words. It invites viewers to look beyond appearances and consider the hidden battles others may be facing.

In Tianna’s words:

“I made these to figure out the concept and color scheme to go for on the final painting. These are just basic conceptualizations/sketches. More details, shading, highlights, and dimension will be added in the final piece.”
